Components
The parts we use to build your building play a vital role in how your building will look today and ten years from now. Cheap, inferior parts may look good today, but will change drastically and show their real qualities in just a few short years. Burkholder Buildings, through their supplier network, is able to aquire the best materials at some of the best prices out there. All our products are name-brand, industry standard products. Most carry 40 yr. or Lifetime warranties.

Glulam Poles
Our poles are the back bone of our buildings. We choose to use glulam poles on buildings over 10' high. Glulam poles are manufactured by taking 3 2x6's and gluing and clamping them together for a minimum of 10 hours. The sides are then planed smooth. Pressure treated lumber is used for the portion of the pole in contact with the ground. The remainder of the pole is regular yellow pine. It is easier to penetrate treatment into a 2x6 than a 6x6Sustainable - 2x6's are harvested from sustainable managed forests. No old growth timber is cut for glu-lam products.

Hot-Dipped Galvanized Nails
Nails are the most important component of the building. Not all nails are created equal. We use Maze PTL Double dipped galvanized nails. These nails are double dipped for twice the corrosion resistance. We only use spiral (screw) shank nails. These nails provide more withdrawl resistance than ordinary smooth shank nails. If you try to tear off a board that is held in by one of these nails, you are more likely to pull the nail through the board than pull the nail out of the pole. Maze Nail advantages include:

Painted Steel Panels
Painted Steel is the popular choice when it comes to roofing and siding on our pole buildings. Our panels come pre-painted in fifteen different colors. They are fastened to the building using painted screws with a neoprene washer. All our metal panels are galvanized and primed before painting. The paint finishes are warrantied against rust and fade.
